Somethings have to be done with legs open, 2007
40cm wide x 100 cm tall
Mixed Media on Linen

A little girl with bruised knees, scared shines, calloused feet and dirty fingernails grew into a muscular self confident teenager wearing leather mini-skirts and defying a daughter’s curfew. Where shall she draw the line in being female, from the country, beautiful, sexy, respectful and mischievous, curious, intense, resourceful, creative, upright and independent? With no mother around to learn from she meet with old women around the lake and collected their stories and stones. She created for herself and identity. She swore she would be female, wear skirts, enjoy it but some things just have to be done with your legs open!
