Leaving for the Ocean, 2007
120 cm wide x 80 cm tall
mixed media on canvas
Do not fear not knowing, get up and go and see. It feels so wonderful
to continue working on a dream that we are so good at. She sits in
the field of her thoughts mingled with yours, her ideals tossed with
yours and then a spark flies below in her belly. She is drying out.
This is right, I know what I need. We know when its time to go home,
to hand over what we have been so busy with, but it is hard. Every
day she takes each star from the sky and washes them and carefully
places them back in the sky. They talk with her and sing with her but
one in particular asked her to go into the ocean with him. He asked
everyday until she said yes. She was afraid to go and leave her work
and find something new but she could feel the monotony draining her
creativity and so she went with him.
