She
said, "Come behind the curtain of flowers with me.",
2007
40cm wide x 100 cm tall, Mixed Media on Linen
She came from the street she
seemed hard and cold with a sharp tongue that could pierce your heart
and see through your soul. Often she felt sorry for what she said but
protecting herself was more important. She learned the ways of the
world the hard way. New the good people from the bad and one day she
took a walk through the park and met a mean who continued to stare
at her in the eyes. He said his name was Adam Grahm and she asked “What
do you want?” He replied simply and smoothly,” to kill
you.” He chased her through the park, the ally but she ducked
into an old apartment house and locked the door and waited him out
while watching his shadows dance in place under the old ally lamp just
behind her roof top apartment. But he did kill her, at least a part
of her. She made a decision never to be a hard cold serpent again as
it did never really protect her from harm. She lavished herself in
metaphoric flowers and kept her secrets to share with those she loved
tenderly behind her curtain of flowers.
