A school house divided is a school house fallen.

I am currently reading A. Lincoln by Ronald C. White, Jr. and it is quite fascinating. Where have such morals disappeared to I ask myself? Where has such tolerance disappeared to? Where has such self-responsibility disappeared to? Yesterday I sat in a meeting where a teacher explained how the human does not naturally what to learn, that naturally they are lazy and only learn when motivated. I disagree! It returns to the old question of Smith versus Marx and I stand by Smith`s belief that humans are naturally driven to be more than what they are. So the question then is then Ms. Teacher of lazy students, "why are your humans so unmotivated?"

Lincoln believed in a house divided is a house fallen. I agree, and a school house is also so. I see most educational problems stemming from a divided house. Be it management or teacher a house must stand together in order to strive for educational excellence. Democratic leadership, on-board teachers who strive to improve their motivational skills rather than look for punitive resources.
